Bruce Newsome, PhD Lead Instructional Designer Bruce brings unusual
inter-disciplinary expertise in the behavioral, management, political, and military sciences. He has held teaching
positions at the University of Pennsylvania, Cranfield University, the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom, University of
California San Diego, and the University of Reading in England, where he led the ISISS (Instructional Simulations in
the Social Sciences) project. In academia, he teaches courses on security risk management, counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency,

Matt
Lewis, PhD Instructional Designer Matt is a research scientist and policy analyst with
expertise in learning, decision-making, and training technologies. His research/teaching experience includes
work at Carnegie Mellon University, the Learning Research and Development Center, University of Pittsburgh, the Oregon Center
for Applied Science, and at the Open University in England. His work also includes applications of technology
